MarcUS for Change seeks partners who deliver award winning programs for at risk youth.
The Stamford Public Education Foundation’s mission is to support the students and teachers in Stamford’s Public Schools through community collaboration and philanthropy. Relevant programs include the Stamford Mentoring Program, Everybody Wins! Power Lunch, LIFE Tutoring, and college preparation for all high school students through Naviance Family Connection.
Kids Helping Kids is a 501c3 and was founded in the summer of 2009 by Lexi Kelley. The idea to start KHK came from the small acts of kindness from many people that Lexi experienced at 12 years old while recuperating from a bad car accident in January 2009. As the team of volunteers has matured, KHK has also matured and we are now have over 250 kids from 51 different schools involved in one or more projects. Every project is youth inspired, developed and led!
The Stamford Youth Foundation provides middle school football, cheerleading, and other extracurricular programs to Stamford’s youth. SYF’s programs bring together students from diverse neighborhoods and instill confidence, commitment, strong work ethic, and respect. Its programs help to ensure that the budget constraints faced by the Stamford Board of Education does not detract from the extracurricular activities at Stamford public middle schools.
Scouted Sports is for profit L.L.C. that was created to help student-athletes learn how to get themselves recruited to play collegiate sports. They help students research colleges, write emails, create recruiting videos and host online recruiting profiles to gain exposure to college coaches.
Boys and Girls Club of Stamford is an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Club of America. It serves more than 1,000 children ages six to eighteen in Stamford. The mission of BGC is to enable all children to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. It offers facilities, programs, and support systems that aim to assist young people in their academic, social, athletic and cultural pursuits. BGC’s formula for impact focuses on the core areas of Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.
NoMadic Soules is a non-profit organization run by two Chicago University graduates born and raised on the south side of Chicago. They have developed a program of community outreach to help young African American kids through sports activities.
